Superior, Nebraska

Abundant wildlife exists along the Republican river, only one mile south of Superior. Canoeing and tubing on the river are popular activities. Hunting is excellent for deer, quail, pheasants, wild turkey, ducks, geese and rabbits. There are 2,200 acres of public hunting area available around the Lovewell Lake reservoir. The area offers outstanding opportunities to view and photograph deer, bald eagles, prairie dogs,and migratory birds, ducks and geese. If you are in search of something more challenging and a bit on the wild side, Cadams Hunt Club has over 5000 acres available for wild bird hunts.

Log Cabin - Home - Post Office

Superior's original building, a log cabin, was built by William Louden and several of his friends in 1872. The building served as a home, post office and trading post. As acting postmaster, Louden (paid $1 per month for his efforts) established "daily service,"

Superior City Park

The City Park, on Highway 14 in the middle of town, was donated by the planner of East Superior, Austin Collette and William Loudon in 1880. The park contains a Chinese cannon which was brought from China by Lady Vestey. The park also has a memorial statue in tribute to our veterans.
